The Governor of Cross River State, His Excellency Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, has announced the immediate suspension of the recent appointments to the Governing Councils for the Schools of Nursing in Obudu and Calabar. This decision was made public today via a statement issued by the Office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
The statement, signed by Chief Press Secretary Nsa Gill, highlighted that the Governor has approved a comprehensive review of the appointments. Until the review is concluded, the status quo prior to these appointments will be maintained.
The move comes as part of the Governor’s commitment to ensuring that the leadership and management of educational institutions in the state are both effective and transparent. No specific reasons were given for the suspension, but it indicates a proactive approach by the state government to address any potential issues within its educational governance framework.
Residents and stakeholders in the education sector are advised to await further announcements as the review process progresses.
