Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), working in collaboration with troops of the Nigerian Army 13 Brigade, Calabar, have uncovered and destroyed more than six hectares of cannabis farmland in Uwet community, Akamkpa Local Government Area of Cross River State.
The operation was carried out following credible intelligence indicating the presence of illegal cannabis cultivation in the area.
Security operatives stormed the location and successfully dismantled the farm during the raid.
During the operation, one female suspect was apprehended at the site. Authorities also recovered 119 kilograms of already processed cannabis, while an estimated two tonnes of the substance were destroyed on the farmland.
