The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially listed Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo as the governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) for the 2027 Cross River State governorship election.

Toyo’s name appeared on the commission’s final list of candidates, published alongside nine other governorship candidates and their running mates contesting the election.

She will be running with Magam Dino Ntul, who is listed as her deputy governorship candidate.

The development marks a significant step in the ADC’s preparations for the 2027 governorship election as the party positions itself as an alternative political platform in Cross River State.

Toyo, 67, is among the candidates whose details were published by INEC. Her running mate, Ntul, is 43.

Other candidates on the list include Governor Bassey Edet Otu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Archibong Arthur Javis of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Ali Patrick of the Action Alliance (AA), and candidates of six other political parties.

With INEC’s publication of the final list, the ADC’s governorship ticket is now officially reflected in the commission’s records ahead of the 2027 electoral contest.

The party is seeking to translate its growing political mobilisation into electoral support across the 18 local government areas of Cross River State.

The final list.
