The Cross River State Ministry of Water Resources has appointed the Ministry’s Chief Geologist, Mr Felix Irek, as Technical Assistant to the Office of the Permanent Secretary with immediate effect.

The appointment, conveyed in a letter dated July 6, 2026, was signed by the Director of Administration, Mr Williams Agba, on behalf of the Commissioner.

According to the appointment letter, Mr Irek will provide technical support to the Office of the Permanent Secretary and coordinate official assignments and programmes of the office. His responsibilities also include monitoring the implementation of approved directives and decisions, preparing technical briefs and reports, facilitating collaboration with various departments, agencies, and development partners, and following up on assigned tasks to ensure their timely completion.

The letter further stated that he would undertake any other duties assigned by the Permanent Secretary or the Commissioner for Water Resources as needed.

The Ministry described the appointment as a reflection of the confidence reposed in Mr Irek’s professional competence, dedication and commitment to duty. It urged him to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, diligence, loyalty and discretion in the discharge of his responsibilities.
