The member representing Obudu/Bekwarra/Obanliku Federal Constituency, Honourable Peter Akpanke has praised Governor Bassey Otu for his significant developmental achievements in Cross River State, within his short stay in office.

He made these remarks, Monday, in his office at the House of Representatives in Abuja, during a courtesy visit from a delegation led by the Special Adviser on National Assembly Matters, Mr Chris Mbu-Ogar.

Honourable Akpanke highlighted significant projects by the state government, including the renovation of roads across the three senatorial districts, and improvements to other state infrastructure. According to him, these efforts are clear indicators to Governor Otu’s commitment to transforming the state and warrant robust support from all stakeholders.

He further remarked that under Otu’s leadership, Cross River is positioned to regain its former prominence, with expectations to surpass current benchmarks by the conclusion of the Governor’s term.

Akpanke expressed absolute confidence in Mr Chris Mbu-Ogar’s appointment as Special Adviser to the Governor on National Assembly Matters, emphasizing that Mbu-Ogar has capacity to turn a desert to a fruitful forest, hence, has never failed in any assignments given him.

Speaking earlier, the Special Adviser to the Governor on National Assembly Matters, Mr Chris Mbu-Ogar emphasized on the need for Cross Riverians at all levels, especially the National Assembly, to align their interests with the State Government’s vision and collaborate towards advancing a unified Cross River.

He pointed out that Otu’s bipartisan approach will birth a more prosperous and resilient state.

Mbu-Ogar also commended Hon. Peter Akpanke for his outstanding performance in the House of Representatives, despite it being his first term. “Your contributions so far have established you as one of the best-performing members,” he concluded.
