The leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Abi chapter has passed a vote of confidence on Victor Bassey, its chairman.
The adoption meeting had the party’s leadership from across the 10 political wards of the chapter, it was held on July 2nd, 2024 at Gommay’s Plaza Calabar and was presided over by Barrister Eko Alobo.
Some members of the state executive council were present, they are Mr Egbe Awo, State Assistant Youth Leader Central; Hon Josephine Egbe, State Assistant Woman Leader; and Engr Eleng Edu, state ex-officio member.
A statement made available to our newsroom read in part:
“After thorough evaluations and deliberations, we are pleased to announce Victor Bassey as the consensus candidate to return as Chapter Chairman for a second term.
“His commitment to the party’s growth and development is unwavering, his leadership style inspires the people, and his active mobilization strength is second to none. His creativity and prompt response to party issues are super, and his ability to consistently organize programme activities for the party and keep the party moving speedily is driven by passion.
“Victor Bassey’s contributions to the PDP extend beyond the Abi level. As the strong influential Chapter Chairman, he has been instrumental in decision-making in the form of Chapter Chairmen and enlarged state Exco gatherings. He has always mobilized support for PDP candidates across the country for the past years. His efforts have earned him many positions in the PDP National and State Campaign Council for the previous years.
