EFCC Arrests Six Suspected Internet Fraudsters In Akwa Ibom

Operatives of the Uyo Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Akwa Ibom State, have arrested six internet fraudsters.

The Acting Head, Media and Publicity of the commission, Dele Oyewale, on Monday, disclosed this in a statement.

Oyewale said the suspects were arrested along Calabar-Itu road during a sting operation on Thursday, following intelligence linking them with suspected internet-related activities.

The suspects are Udenze Benjamin, Godwin Atike, Emmanuel Francis, Adebe Oluwademilade, Anietie Brownson and Sabastin Obioma.

He said items such as phones and laptops were recovered from the suspects, adding that they would be charged to court at the end of the investigations.

“Operatives of the EFCC, have arrested six suspected internet fraudsters along Calabar-Itu road in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State following intelligence. Some items recovered from them include phones and laptops.

“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the statement said.
