The Cross River State Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Development has announced the release of a shortlist of successful farmers’ cooperatives for the Subsidized Mini Tractor Acquisition Scheme. The announcement, made via a public service announcement, signals a key step in the state government’s efforts to boost agricultural productivity.

According to the Ministry, the comprehensive list of shortlisted cooperatives is now available at the Ministry Headquarters located in Calabar. All cooperatives that made the final list have been instructed to visit the Department of Agricultural Mechanisation and Irrigation at the headquarters to complete their documentation without delay.

The initiative is part of the Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu-led administration’s commitment to its “People First Agenda.” The government remains dedicated to supporting local farmers and enhancing mechanized farming to drive economic growth and ensure food security within the state.

The statement was signed by the Commissioner for Agriculture and Irrigation Development, Honourable Johnson Ebokpo (KSM), who reiterated the administration’s resolve to empower the agricultural sector.
