There is seemingly some level of anxiety as survivors, staff of the University of Calabar (UNICAL), interested civil society organizations, and the public pay rapped attention to receiving the final report of alleged sexual harassment from the investigation panel set by the institution.

The school management had a few weeks ago set up a panel of investigation to look into allegations of abuse of office, misconduct, and sexual harassment leveled against the former Dean of the Faculty of Law, Professor Cyril Osim Ndifon.

Although, in the course of the panel’s sittings, scores of students, staff members, and ex-students from the institution were said to have testified on oath against the suspended former Dean, accusing him of being guilty of the allegations preferred on him; ranging from victimization among others.

Sources disclosed to CrossRiverWatch that the defendant (Prof. Ndifon) had failed to appear before the panel to defend the allegations despite being announced and invited several times.

It is not clear when the panel will present its final report, but it is suspected that the report will be ready in the coming days.

The panel headed by Professor Dorathy Jacobs is composed of lawyers, academia, Human Rights Commission, and as well as civil society organizations.

Meanwhile, the embattled Professor on Sunday, September 24, 2023, said his life is under threat; fingering the management and Vice Chancellor, Prof. Florence Obi.
