The ADC governorship candidate in Cross River State, Ambassador Nkoyo Toyo, has accused the government of imposing excessive taxes and levies on businesses in the State, saying the relentless “pay, pay, pay” demands are squeezing businesses already struggling with the cost of doing business.

Ambassador Nkoyo spoke while welcoming the party’s Vice-Presidential candidate, Rt. Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, and his entourage. She also recalled an impromptu stop at Watt Market, where the delegation engaged with traders.

“Another election message is that we must stop suffering. We must return to a nation that cares for its people, not just one that extracts from them. The taxes and levies small and big businesses pay are just too much. Everywhere is pay, pay, pay,” she fumed.
