Former CRAF Chairman Irek Dee Announces Burial Plans For Mother

Mrs Irek, described as a devoted mother, grandmother, and community pillar, is the mother of former Chairman of the Cross River State Artist Forum, Irek Friday AKA Irek Dee.

The family of the late Mrs Christiana Egbe Irek, fondly known as Oka-Obongha, has announced her passing and released details of her burial arrangements.

Mrs Irek, described as a devoted mother, grandmother, and community pillar, is the mother of former Chairman of the Cross River State Artist Forum, Irek Friday AKA Irek Dee. According to the family, her life was marked by kindness, resilience, and unwavering commitment to both family and community.

Burial activities will commence with a vigil night on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Mile 1 Park in Obubra by 7:00 p.m. This will be followed by a funeral mass on Saturday, May 9, 2026, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, starting at 9:00 a.m.

In a statement, Irek Dee called on friends, colleagues, and well-wishers to support the family during this period, appealing for moral, and spiritual assistance as they prepare to give their matriarch a befitting farewell.
