The Cross River State Government has announced the cancellation of the monthly environmental sanitation exercise scheduled for Saturday, March 28, 2026. The decision aims to ensure smooth and unrestricted movement for candidates and functionaries participating in the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Mock Examination.
In a public service announcement, the government stated that the cancellation is necessary to prevent any hindrance to candidates accessing their examination centres on the day of the mock test, which is set for March 28, 2026.
“There will be no restriction on human or vehicular movement across the state on Saturday, March 28, 2026,” the announcement emphasised.
Residents and business owners, however, have been encouraged to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surroundings despite the cancellation. The regular monthly sanitation exercise is expected to resume in April 2026.
The statement was e-signed by Barr Rosemary Onah, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment.
This move aligns with similar decisions in previous years, where the state has occasionally adjusted or suspended sanitation exercises to accommodate major examinations such as WAEC or other national tests.
