The newly inaugurated Vice Chairman of the South-South Zone, Comrade Daniel Obo, yesterday committed his administration to aggressively pursuing expanded opportunities and effective representation for young people across the six states in the zone.
Speaking shortly after his inauguration, Obo declared his core focus would be an expansion of his previous successes as National Youths Council Chairman in Cross River State.
“Our duty is to be sure that we create opportunities for young people.” He also made a profound commitment to long-term service, saying his new office is “better to serve 22 years for the interest of young people of Cross River State.”
The youth leader stressed that achieving his mandate would require close synergy with political stakeholders.
“We will collaborate with the government, collaborate with the establishment and be sure that the youth of our zone get effective representation and also stand firm by the president,” Obo affirmed, signalling a commitment to partnership with established political structures at the national level.
The inauguration event saw high-profile attendance, including a State Commissioner who represented the Governor and accepted an award on the Governor’s behalf. Obo extended his gratitude to the Governor for the support and the official representation at the ceremony.
