The Cross River State Government, through its Department of Budget Monitoring and Evaluation, has announced plans to host a one-day consultative forum on the preparation of the proposed 2026 budget.
According to an official notice, the event is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Metropolitan Hotel, Calabar, commencing at 11:00 AM. The consultative forum forms part of the state’s efforts to ensure inclusive governance and citizen participation in the budget-making process.
The exercise will be presided over by the Governor of Cross River State, Sen Bassey Edet Otu, and is expected to attract a broad range of stakeholders, including community representatives, civil society organisations, and the private sector.
Residents and stakeholders have been urged to attend and contribute their views, while further enquiries can be made via the state budget office’s official email or hotlines.
