The Office of the Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization to the Governor of Cross River State has announced a significant event aimed at empowering the youth and fostering community development in the Central Senatorial District. The “One Day Town Hall Meeting” is scheduled to take place on November 22, 2024, at the Ikom Council Hall, beginning at 12 noon.

Under the theme “Seasons of Sweetness Reloaded, The Place of the Central Youth,” the event promises to address key issues concerning youth participation in governance and community development. Additionally, the event will mark the official launch of the Cross River State Youth Mobilizers Community, a network designed to mobilize and engage young people across the state.

Governor Bassey Edet Otu, who is the Special Guest of Honour, is expected to deliver an address outlining the government’s vision for youth inclusion and development. Notable figures expected to attend include Senator Eteng Jonah Williams, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Elvert Ayambem, and Professor Anthony Owan Enoh, further emphasizing the government’s commitment to supporting youth initiatives.

The Guest Speaker, Prince Agbor Onyinyechi, PhD, will share insights on the role of youth in driving sustainable development within the Central Senatorial District. Hon. Kasetima Nentui Ayiba will serve as the Chairman of the event, bringing his expertise and leadership to the proceedings.

Other key personalities expected at the town hall include prominent political and community leaders such as Hon. Emmanuel Ironbar, Hon Oden Ewa, and Hon Lebo Lebo. Together, they will engage the youth in discussions aimed at fostering development, addressing challenges, and creating opportunities for young people.

This event, supported by CODE 888, will be hosted by Comrade Dan Obo, the Special Adviser on Youth Mobilization to the Governor of Cross River State, with Mrs Mercy Nsor, the Executive Chairman of Ikom LGA, as the Chief Host. The organizers encourage the youth and other stakeholders from the Central Senatorial District to attend and participate in shaping the future of their communities.
