The 10-day #EndBadGovernanceInNigeria protest is yet to begin in Cross River State. A visit by TheInvestigator to the kick-off point, Freedom Park by Mary Slessor roundabout revealed a heavy security presence.
Despite the heavy rain, four police vans were stationed around Freedom Park, and Air Force personnel were spotted inside the Palladium bar.
This reporter also observed that the streets of Calabar, the state capital, were calm and less busy. Many businesses are closed including markets.
