The Government of Cross River State has officially dissolved the Directorate of Programme and Projects under the Office of the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Orientation. The dissolution follows allegations of gross misconduct and malfeasance committed by the leadership of the committee overseeing the directorate.
In an official statement issued on August 6, 2024, Mr Afufu Anthony Ogabor, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Orientation, announced that the current directorate has been disbanded due to these serious accusations.
According to the SA, the decision was necessary to maintain the integrity of the office and its functions.
A new team for the directorate is expected to be announced shortly. The incoming team will be tasked with the responsibility of formulating and implementing orientation programmes that will benefit the students of Cross River State.
The Directorate of Programme and Projects was inaugurated on July 11, 2024.
