By TheInvestigator

The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) have announced an indefinite nationwide strike starting on Monday, June 3, 2024. The unions are demanding a new national minimum wage and a reversal of the recent hike in electricity tariffs.

The unions say that the government has failed to negotiate a new minimum wage in good faith. They also claim that the government has not addressed their concerns about the recent increase in electricity prices.

The unions are calling on all workers to join the strike. They say that the strike will continue until the government meets their demands.

The strike is expected to cause disruptions to businesses and government services across Nigeria. It is also possible that the strike will lead to protests and violence.
