Humanitarian Affairs And Poverty Alleviation Minister, Betta Edu Announce 13 Appointment

The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Dr. Betta Edu has announced some appointments in line with President Tinubu’s directive to restructure the social safety net program to address the expanded mandate of the ministry.  

The new appointees are to support her office in implementing President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at providing assistance to those affected by humanitarian crises and eradicating multi-dimensional poverty In Nigeria.

Those appointed and their offices are the National Coordinator NASSCO – Abdulaziz Danladi, National Cash Transfer Office NCTO Head of Office – Dr. Micheal Ajuluchukwu, NCTO Deputy Head of Office – Dr. Janet Ekpenyong, National Program Manager Youth Empowerment Empowerment and Social Support Operations (YESSO) – Mr. Richard Romanus, National  Communication manager NSIP – Hon Jamalu kaburu, and the National Program Manager Renewed Hope Shelter Program for Refugees, Poor, and Internally Displaced Persons – Hon Chidinma Makuachukwu.

Others are the National Program Manager, Grant for Vulnerable groups – Hon Thalis Apalowo, Program Manager At Risk Children Program – Hajia Salia Sanusi Yusuff, National Program Manager, National Homegrown School Feeding Program (Renewed Hope Home Grown School Feeding and End Hunger program) – Mrs. Obande, Government Enterprise, and Empowerment Program (Renewed Hope MSME Loan Program) – Dr. Joseph Nkang, Program Manager N-Power Program (Renewed  Hope Skills Acquisition Program – Dr. Akindele Adekunle Egbuwalo, Renewed Hope IDP Refugees out of school Program (National Alternate School Program) – Dr. Etcheri Ansa, and National Project Manager, Community, and Social Development Program- Hon. Olubunmi Bello.

The Honourable Minster of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation remains the Chairman of the National Social Safety Net Coordinating Office (NASSCO) Management Team, while the Secretary of the NASSCO Management team is Hon. Abel Enitan, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation. 

The Minister charges the new appointees to bring their wealth of experience to bear in their new offices as there will be no room for excuses or failure, in the actualization of the Renewed Hope mandate and in moving Nigeria Forward.

The news of the appointment was communicated by Mr. Rasheed Olanrewaju Zubair, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Dr. Betta Edu.

The appointments take immediate effect.
