BREAKING: Armed Policeman Allegedly Opens Fire At Watt Market, Four Killed

The police have since barricaded the road, heightening tensions in the vicinity.

Chaos erupted at Atakpa near Watt Market in Calabar South local government area as an armed policeman allegedly opened fire on civilians, leaving at least four people confirmed dead.

According to reports from Calabar Blog Media, the officer fired sporadically at innocent passersby, causing panic among residents and traders in the busy commercial area. The police have since barricaded the road, heightening tensions in the vicinity.

Eyewitnesses who spoke to TheInvestigator describe the scene as terrifying, with people fleeing in different directions to escape the gunfire. The motive behind the shooting remains unclear at this time.

Efforts by TheInvestigator to reach the Cross River State Police Command for confirmation and further details are ongoing.
