Ambassador Kennedy Njar-Nsan has formally declared his intention to contest the Ikom 1 State Constituency seat in the Cross River State House of Assembly under the banner of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2027 general elections.
In a message released to supporters and key stakeholders across the constituency, Njar-Nsan called for the backing of the people of Ikom, emphasizing that his decision is rooted in a deep commitment to delivering quality representation and accountable leadership.
The aspiring lawmaker pledged that his campaign would be anchored on inclusiveness, collaboration, and broad-based participation, assuring residents that no individual or group would be sidelined.
“Our decision to seek elective office is driven by the conviction that our people deserve leaders who are genuinely committed to public service and sustainable community development,” he stated.
Njar-Nsan further declared: “We want to offer ourselves for leadership so that you can lead through us. We want to offer better leadership and we want to partner with everyone who believes in quality representation and accountable leadership.”
Expressing concern over the current trajectory of governance in the country, he urged citizens to take a more active role in shaping leadership and policy outcomes. He promised that his representation would transcend “tokenistic approaches” to development, focusing instead on impactful policies and initiatives that will deliver tangible progress to Ikom 1.
“I am fully committed to the development of Ikom,” he said, appealing directly to constituents to support his aspiration. “Together, we will bring about the positive transformation our constituency deserves.”
The declaration officially kicks off Njar-Nsan’s bid to represent Ikom 1 State Constituency, setting the stage for what he envisions as a people-centered campaign ahead of the 2027 polls.
