The Cross River State Audit Service Commission has begun efforts to strengthen the state’s audit framework, seeking closer collaboration with the Ministry of Justice to promote transparency, accountability, and prudent management of public resources.
The Commission made the call during a courtesy visit to the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Ededem Charles Ani, where it presented the Cross River State Audit Law 2021 for consideration and proposed amendments.
Leading the delegation, the Chairman of the Commission, Dr Christopher Nyong, said collaboration with the Attorney General’s office was critical to ensuring compliance with audit laws and professional practices. He stressed the need for public institutions to adhere strictly to established auditing standards to strengthen accountability and improve public financial management.
