According to the deputy governor, all court cases relating to the APC senatorial ticket have been withdrawn, bringing an end to the legal tussle that had threatened party unity ahead of the elections.

The internal dispute over the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial candidacy for Cross River Central has been resolved following the intervention of Governor Bassey Otu.
Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Mr Peter Odey, announced on Monday that all disagreements surrounding the party’s candidate for the Cross River Central Senatorial District had been settled after a meeting held at his residence earlier in the day at the instance of the governor.
According to the deputy governor, all court cases relating to the APC senatorial ticket have been withdrawn, bringing an end to the legal tussle that had threatened party unity ahead of the elections.
He commended Senator Eteng Jonah Williams for what he described as his maturity and understanding in resolving the matter, noting that the senator’s decision had paved the way for reconciliation within the party.
Mr Odey urged party faithful and supporters across the Central Senatorial District to unite behind the APC’s candidate, Hon Oden Ewa, and work towards securing victory for the party in the forthcoming elections.
He also appealed to supporters of all parties involved in the dispute to embrace peace, put aside their differences, and fully support the decision reached in the interest of the APC.
The resolution is expected to strengthen the APC’s preparations for the forthcoming elections in Cross River State, with party leaders expressing confidence that the reconciliation will foster greater unity within its ranks.
