The Cross River State Government has announced the commencement of its Educational Orientation Summit for secondary school students across the Southern Senatorial District. The programme, themed “From Distractions to Distinction: Empowering Students to Overcome Social Pressure, Drug Temptation and Career Confusion,” is scheduled to run from November 5 to November 21, 2025.
According to the schedule released by Comr Afufu Anthony Ogar-Ogabor, Special Assistant to the Governor on Students’ Orientation, the summit is designed to guide students in navigating the challenges of adolescence, peer influence, and future career choices.
The orientation will kick off on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Government Secondary School, Barracks Road, Calabar Municipality, and continue across selected schools in the region.
The programme itinerary shows that the train will move to Government Secondary School, Anantigha, Calabar South, on Friday, November 7, before heading to Government Secondary School, Ikang, Bakassi, on Monday, November 10, and Community Secondary School, Ikot Ewa, Akpabuyo, on Wednesday, November 12.
In Week Three, the summit will be held at Government Secondary School, Akamkpa, on Wednesday, November 19, and at Government Secondary School, Adiabo, Tinapa, Odukpani, on Friday, November 21. The programme will round off at Community Secondary School, Adim, Biase, in Week Four.
