It was an evening of glamour, reflection, and celebration as family, friends, associates, and dignitaries converged to honour Dr Michael Nku Abuo, Cross River State coordinator of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD) Africa and Special Adviser to the governor on Intervention, on the occasion of his 40th birthday celebration, which also featured the public presentation of his literary works.
The event, which was held at the Metropolitan Hotel Calabar, was graced by the Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Rt Hon Peter Odey, who eulogised the celebrant for his contributions to youth development, governance, and literary excellence. In her goodwill message, the Deputy Governor described Dr Abuo as a shining light, a bridge builder, and a man whose ideas transcend politics into philosophy and humanity.

The celebration began with a red-carpet reception and the grand entrance of the celebrant. It was interspersed with documentary displays, thanksgiving, musical performances, and the launch of five books authored by Dr Abuo: “Tales of Love,” “Poetic Calling of Free Verses,” “Verses of an Mbube Prince,” “Philo-Spiritual Musings,” and “My Poems and I.”

A review of the books was delivered by Professor Michael Okom, who commended the works for their depth, creativity, and relevance to contemporary society. Selected poems were also read to the admiration of the audience, adding a cultural flavour to the evening.
