UCTH Unveils A New Urology Clinic

The block consisting of a waiting area, consulting rooms, a procedure room and support offices is named in honour of late Professor Edet Okon Nkposong, Nigeria’s first Urologist who lived from 1930 to 2024.

In a significant boost to men’s health, the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) has unveiled a dedicated Urology Clinics block.

The block consisting of a waiting area, consulting rooms, a procedure room and support offices is named in honour of late Professor Edet Okon Nkposong, Nigeria’s first Urologist who lived from 1930 to 2024.

In commissioning the Clinics, the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital Management expects that Urological treatments and research will vastly improve.

Already, the Clinic is the site for 2 major international research endeavours on prostate cancer.

At the unveiling, the Nkposong family sincerely appreciated the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital for honouring the memory and service of their late Patriarch. See pictures:
