The Basic Rights Counsel Initiative (BRCI), in partnership with the Embassy of France in Nigeria, successfully held the 2nd edition of Law Day on October 17, 2024, in Calabar, the Cross River state capital.
The event was a vibrant platform for discussing critical issues surrounding human rights violations and the rule of law.
It featured a novelty match at Eastern Secondary School, a mock trial, and an interactive workshop at the University of Calabar’s Moot Court. The mock trial drew attention to real-world legal challenges and was followed by an engaging workshop where participants explored strategies to address human rights abuses.
Law Day brought together legal professionals, human rights advocates, and students, fostering insightful discussions on the enforcement of human rights and the promotion of justice in Nigeria.
