The Cross River state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and TheInvestigtor Journalism Development and Innovation Centre (TIJDIC) have forged a strategic partnership for journalism training and other support. The collaboration was sealed during a courtesy visit to the NUJ at the Ernest Etim Bassey Press Centre, State Housing Calabar.

Opening her doors to TheInvestigtor Journalism Development and Innovation Centre, the Cross River chapter chairman of NUJ, Mrs Archibong Bassey said she’s exhilarated by the visit.

The first female NUJ chairman in the state maintained that the place of training and retraining remains top-notch on her agenda. She revealed that since she came on board over “60 journalists have been recommended for training and we want that to continue. I commend what you’re doing out there and it is exciting to see what you are bringing to the table. My earnest desire is for members to be trained and retrained because no knowledge is wasted.”

Mrs Archibong reiterated “We are in a world where things are changing very fast, and it is just natural that we align. With our profession we need to move with speed, this is welcoming and of course, I will encourage members to take advantage of this training, fair enough I think it is flexible.”

Earlier, the Executive Director of TheInvestigtor Journalism Development and Innovation Centre, Mr Archibong Jeremiah shared the mission and vision of the organization.
