Lebo did not give a reason for his resignation in the letter. But there is speculation that he may join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and run for House of Representatives in the next general elections.

Rt. Hon. John Gaul Lebo, Speaker of the Cross River State House of Assembly, has resigned from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

A letter dated May 10th, 2024 was sent to the Ward Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party at Adadama Council Ward. 

It states that Lebo is resigning from his membership at all levels of the party.

Lebo did not give a reason for his resignation in the letter. But there is speculation that he may join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and run for House of Representatives in the next general elections.

He thanked the party for the opportunity and platform it had offered him in the last few years.
