In a move aimed at strengthening efficiency and transparency, the Cross River State government has established a committee to review the state’s public/civil service rules.
The committee, announced by the Office of the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, will be led by Dr. Innocent Eteng, the Head of Service.
They will have 90 days from their inaugural meeting to complete their review.
This 21-member committee brings together a diverse range of expertise. Legal advisors, retired permanent secretaries, and representatives from both the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) will offer their perspectives.
The committee’s findings and recommendations will be submitted to the office of the Secretary to the State Government for further action. This comprehensive review is expected to lead to a more streamlined and effective public service system in Cross River State.
