Blessing Okechukwu, mother of twin boys, has hidden her son away from treatment. One of the twins was diagnosed with cerebral palsy but is nowhere to be found to commence treatment.

During a medical examination at the University of Calabar Teaching Hospital (UCTH) Samuel (not his real name) was discovered to have severe bruises all over him as a result of abuse from his mother.

It was further established that his twin brother is healthy. At age 6 Samuel (not his real name), still bed wet, uses pampas.

A source familiar with the case told TheInvestigator that “On the 29th September, 2023, Blessing Okechukwu brought a 6 year old male child to UCTH Children’s outpatient clinic. The SW was called in on account of assault. The little boy was assaulted multiple times by his mother.

“The doctor’s investigation revealed that the child has special needs called cerebral palsy. Let me add that he is a twin, but his twin is normal.

“The mother reported that the boy defecates and urinates on himself, hence the reason she beats him up.

“Furthermore, the doctor seeing how badly the child had been battered decided to admit the child into the pediatric ward. When the doctors left, the woman took the boy home claiming she needed to travel for an important engagement.”

At press time the patient has not been brought back for treatment.

TheInvestigator sources revealed that she resides at No. 81 White House Street, Calabar South, Cross River State.
