The Special Adviser to the Governor of Cross River State on Youth Mobilisation, Dan Obo, has congratulated Governor Bassey Edet Otu for empowering 400 citizens, including farmers and former members of the defunct Bakassi Defence Force, with seed grants worth ₦800 million.

In a congratulatory message issued on behalf of the state’s youths, Obo described the initiative as a bold demonstration of Governor Otu’s visionary leadership.

“On behalf of the youths of Cross River State, I heartily congratulate His Excellency, Sen Bassey Edet Otu, for once again demonstrating visionary leadership through the empowerment of 400 citizens…with seed grants worth ₦800 million,” he said.

Obo noted that the gesture reflects the governor’s unwavering commitment to youth development, peace-building, and human capital investment. “By redirecting the energy of our vibrant youths into agriculture and entrepreneurship, you have not only given them hope but also charted a sustainable pathway for food security and economic transformation in our dear state,” he stated.

He further emphasised that the programme will “go a long way in restoring dignity, fostering self-reliance, and transforming our young people from societal liabilities into veritable assets for development.”

The youth adviser pledged the continued support of young people across the state to the governor’s administration. “We, the young people of Cross River State, remain grateful and will continue to stand solidly with your administration as you advance the People’s First Agenda,” Obo affirmed.
