In celebration of Governor Bassey Edet Otu’s second year in office, the Cross River State Ministry of Information organised a media tour yesterday to showcase completed and ongoing infrastructure and development projects across Calabar South and Municipality.

The tour, which began at the Ministry of Information headquarters, provided journalists with firsthand access to various sites that reflect the current administration’s efforts.

Stops included the reconstruction and remodelling of the Cross River State Cultural Centre Complex, an inspection of small-holder tractors at the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation Development, and an assessment of renovation efforts at the Cross River State Newspaper Corporation, where journalists also viewed newly procured digital printing machines and 200 pieces of Spiro electric motorcycles.

Attention was also given to the State Agency for the Control of HIV/AIDS (SACA) complex, which has undergone a complete renovation, and the General Hospital, Calabar, featuring the CRS Digital Health Initiative and a new ultra-modern ambulance donated by the NDDC.

The tour continued to major infrastructural improvements, including the rehabilitated Yellow Duke culvert and the revitalised Anantigha Primary Healthcare Centre. Other projects visited included the renovated State Library Complex and the Governor’s Office Complex.

Road infrastructure was a significant highlight, with journalists inspecting the ongoing works at the Adiabor-Ikoneto and Adiabo-Otu roads.

The Commissioner of Information, Dr Erasmus Ekpang led the project inspection tour.
