Cross River Tourism Commissioner, Abubakar Ewa Is Dead

The Cross River State Commissioner for Tourism, Arts, and Culture, Mr Abubakar Robert Ewa is dead.

Mr Ewa passed on this evening at the Arubah Specialist Hospital in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.

CrossRiverWatch reports that Mr Ewa, 61, has been visiting the facility for an undisclosed ailment.

As at the time of filing this report, members of the State Executive Council and other aides of Governor Bassey Otu are gathered at the facility.

His last public activity was a visit to the Arts and Crafts village of the Cultural Center in Calabar to inform traders of a pending demolition exercise for reconstruction of the facility.

Mr Ewa served as Secretary and later, Chairman of the Boki Local Government Council. He also served as Special Adviser Community Relations and Secretary of the Anti Deforestation Task Force.
