UNICAL SUG President Announces 50 New Appointments

The SUG President expressed confidence in the appointed officials, emphasizing their role in advancing the interests of the student body.

The Executive President of the Students’ Union Government (SUG) at the University of Calabar (UNICAL), Blessing Alims Iripia, has unveiled a comprehensive list of appointments within the Union. 

This appointment, according to her “follows a meticulous process of evaluating candidates based on their conduct, credibility, enthusiasm, transparency, and commitment to advancing the goals of the Students’ Union Government.”

In a statement issued by the Office of the Executive President, key positions such as Chief of Staff, Deputy Chief of Staff, Chief Security Officer, Chief Protocol Officer, and others were filled with individuals deemed most capable of driving the Union’s agenda forward.

In addition to these roles, personal assistants and special advisors were appointed to ensure efficient operations across various departments and functions of the Union.

Further strengthening the Union’s outreach, the President also established a dedicated media team and Faculty Liaison Officers were appointed to represent each faculty.

The appointments are set to take effect following their screening and confirmation by the Senate, marking a new chapter in the administration of the Students’ Union Government at the University of Calabar. 

The SUG President expressed confidence in the appointed officials, emphasizing their role in advancing the interests of the student body.
