In a strategic move to address the nation’s pressing security concerns and to engage in meaningful dialogue with the youth, the Forum of Special Advisers and Senior Special Assistants on Youth to Governors across Nigeria paid a courtesy visit to the Honorable Minister of Defense, Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.

The delegation, which included the Personal Assistant to the President on Youth and several principal officers from the Ministry of Defense, met with the Defense Minister to discuss proactive measures to avert the potential nationwide protests that have been gaining traction in recent weeks.

During the meeting, the Forum highlighted the importance of engaging the youth in constructive dialogue to address their concerns and grievances. They emphasized the critical role of the upcoming ‘National Youth Dialogue’, which is set to take place soon, as a platform for young Nigerians to express their views and for the government to articulate its plans for addressing youth-related issues.

Alhaji Mohammed Badaru Abubakar, in his response, expressed the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all Nigerians, particularly the youth. He acknowledged the importance of the National Youth Dialogue and assured the delegation that the Ministry of Defense would work closely with other relevant stakeholders to ensure that the event is successful and that the concerns of the youth are addressed peacefully and constructively.
