The Ogoja district Superintendent of Assemblies of God Church, Cross River State has been suspended for alleged misappropriation of funds and intimidation of colleagues.
Reverend Linus Ijigu whose suspension was handed down from the national authority of the church was also demoted and posted to a small church in Mbok, Ekajuk still in Ogoja.
He was also suspended for over 5 years.
Sources within the church told TheInvestigator the punishment was a result of missappriating over a hundred million naira.
Speaking anonymously he further revealed that “his tenure was characterized by intimidations, threats and harassment of his fellow executive council members who attempted to raise alarm over his misconducts and embezzlement of church funds.”
The Ogoja district comprises Bekwara, Yala, and Ogoja local government areas.

Reverend Linus was contacted for comment on the allegations, but he didn’t respond. He was called and texted, but he responded to none.
