The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has released a statement regarding the discovery of three young siblings, Daniel Akan (6 years old), Matthew Akan Christian (5 years old), and Japther Akan Christian (3 years old), who were found by a concerned Nigerian on April 30th, 2024.

The children, who were all of the same parents and residents of Ikot Akpa Efor Uruan, were found along old Oron road in Ibiaku Ishiet and taken to the Dakada Division of the Police Command.

Despite the police’s efforts, they have been unable to locate the parents or any relatives of the boys. The children were subsequently taken to the Ibesikpo Asutan Division and then transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Family Unit in an attempt to locate their relatives or guardians.

The Akwa Ibom State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Waheed Ayilara, is urging anyone with useful information about the parent(s) or relatives of these boys to come forward and contact the Police Public Relations Officer through the provided telephone numbers or visit any nearest Police Station. Failure to do so may result in serious consequences.

The Command is committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of all citizens, and the police spokesperson, ASP Timfon John, spoke on behalf of the Commissioner of Police in the state and released the contact number (0916 983 9213) for anyone with information to reach out to them.

The police are continuing their investigation to locate the parents or guardians of these young boys, and anyone with information about their whereabouts is urged to come forward immediately.
