Governor Bassey Edet Otu of Cross River State has launched a comprehensive assessment of the state’s electrification status. This initiative aims to promptly address community needs and fulfill the government’s commitment to improved access to electricity.
Governor Otu personally tasked Francis Ekpo, Director General of the Cross River State Electrification Agency (CR-SEA), and his engineering team with leading the assessment.
The team has begun immediate evaluations across various Local Government Areas (LGAs), starting with Obanliku and Obudu in the Northern Senatorial District.
Interactive sessions were held during these initial visits, engaging youths, women, and traditional rulers from all clans. This fostered open dialogue and ensured a clear understanding of community needs.
Speaking at the events, Director General Ekpo expressed his gratitude to the participants and reaffirmed the state government’s dedication to enhancing electricity access. “Governor Otu prioritizes the well-being of our people,” Ekpo emphasized. “He recognizes the critical need for basic amenities, including reliable electricity. Our mission is to assess existing infrastructure and swiftly implement necessary improvement projects.”
Traditional rulers and community leaders commended Governor Otu’s leadership, highlighting his focus on addressing the people’s needs. They expressed appreciation for the proactive approach of Director General Ekpo and his team, acknowledging the importance of their efforts.
